2019 promises to be hot and happening if you've resisted the urge to buy a compact SUV this year. Because, you will be treated to not one, but two all-new compact SUVs. Now, we've already discussed .
First things first, no, it won't be called the QXi. That's the internal codename. The compact-SUV is based on the Concept Carlino aka HND-14 that . We see some Kona inspiration in there too, with slim LED DRLs, and a projector headlamp setup placed on the bumper. One can also spot smaller details such as a shark-fin antenna and turn indicators on the wing mirrors.
We get glimpses into the interior too, that shows an all-black theme. However, expect this aspect to be different for the India-spec SUV. A beige-black dual-tone is likely to be on offer, drawing inspiration from the elder sibling Creta again. On the features front, expect the usual goodies such as climate control, rear-AC vents, steering-mounted audio controls, cruise control and a touchscreen infotainment system. Considering the XUV300 is introducing a sunroof to the segment, we wouldn't be surprised to see Hyundai follow suit.

Under the hood of global Hyundai and Kia cars, this engine makes a healthy 120PS of power, and 170Nm of torque. If your heart craves a diesel SUV, Hyundai is expected to offer a 1.4-litre diesel, borrowed from the , that makes 90PS and 220Nm. An automatic transmission is expected to be on offer with both engine options.
Expect the small SUV to be priced on par with the likes of the and the Mahindra XUV300.
