The long wait for the sported equipment for emission testing, the prototype spied this time was devoid of it but continued to have a camo livery. It is expected to launch at the Auto Expo 2020 alongside other new Tata models.

Since this is essentially a 7-seater, the Gravitas is based on the OmegaArc platform. The spy shots reveal a front-end that is nearly identical to the Harrier. Its tailgate, however, is expected to be different. It could also sport a bulge in the roof for more headroom.

The Gravitas was also spied inside, sporting an identical cabin to the Harrier. Spy shots also showed a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox. Other bits include an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Under the hood, the Gravitas will retain the 2.0-litre diesel engine from the Harrier, albeit BS6 compliant. It is likely to produce up to 170PS of power compared to 140PS in the Harrier. Also, expect the 6-speed manual to feature alongside the 6-speed automatic gearbox setup.

The Gravitas is likely to be priced at a premium over the Harrier's Rs 13 lakh to Rs 17.2 lakh price range. Once launched, it will take on the among other mid-size SUVs in India.
