Remember when the, almost immediately after the pony car made its global debut. Now, a few pictures have surfaced yet again on Instagram.
What we're looking at is the facelift of the Mustang that's currently on sale in various international markets. The update was quite thorough, with a heavily redesigned front and rear end. Of course, you still won't mistake it for anything else on sale. It's still quintessentially Mustang in the way it looks. Changes to the interior are subtler in comparison. This includes a new all-digital instrument cluster, a new touchscreen infotainment system and reworked seats.
The best bit about the Mustang is always the big block under the hood. With the new Mustang, we're expecting nothing different. We've got enough reason to believe Ford will continue to offer just the 5.0-litre, naturally aspirated V8 engine here. The US-spec version makes 466PS of power and 569Nm of torque and is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic.
For India, we're expecting the motor to be detuned a bit and be offered with an automatic transmission only. Along with the much-loved Line Lock, we're expecting (and praying) bundles in the 'Drag Strip' mode as well. This ensures you look like a pro in a head-to-head battle as all you have to do is stomp on the accelerator pedal and hang on for dear life.
For the moment, Ford is focussing on the. The compact sedan will hit showrooms on October 4, and we drive it a day after. We expect the Mustang to follow soon, probably in January next year as an MY19 vehicle.
