Hero MotoCorp registered record sales in the month of September. The country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer sold 7,69,138 units last month, which is its highest ever sales in a single month. In fact, Hero has become the first two-wheeler brand in the world to surpass 7.5 lakh sales milestone in a single month. This is the fifth occasion that the company managed to cross the 7 lakh sales mark and it had already achieved this landmark thrice in the current fiscal year.

Hero already has sold over 4.2 million units in the first six months of this financial year and predicts that sales will grow even further during the upcoming festive season. The record sales in September looks even more impressive when one considers the fact that on-road prices for two-wheelers have increased after the new ruling by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA). It’s now mandatory to have a five-year cover of third-party insurance for all new two-wheelers sold in our country.

According to Hero, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has already taken up the matter with IRDA for a review, and the company is hoping for a positive outcome. It will be soon launching two new 125cc scooters, called the Maestro Edge 125 and the Destini 125, during the festive season.
