Chennai-based two-wheeler-maker, TVS Motor Company, has reported strong numbers during Q2 and the half-year of FY2019. TVS has reportedly clocked revenues of Rs 9,165 crore, up 21.3 percent in H1 FY2019, while operating PAT was Rs 305 crore, an increase of 17.2 percent YoY.

In the first half of the financial year, the company sold 19.41 lakh units (16,19,439 domestic and 3,23,165 export), which marks a year-on-year growth of 13.6 percent. This includes 6,76,000 scooters (+15.4 percent) and 8,07,000 motorcycles (+16 percent).

For the second quarter of FY2019, the company reported revenues of Rs 4,994 crore (+21.9 percent), EBITDA at Rs 428 crore and EBITDA margin at 8.6 percent. The operating PAT also grew by 11 percent, at Rs 190 crore. During Q2, the company sold a cumulative 10.49 lakh two-wheelers (+13.6 percent), including 4,20,000 motorcycles (+14.9 percent) and 3,88,000 scooters (+18.2 percent). 

In the last few weeks, TVS has brought out updated versions of its Wego and Jupiter scooters and brought out a refreshed Star City Plus.
