New Production Ready Jawa Spotted

With November 15 approaching rapidly, here is the uncamouflaged look of the first of the upcoming Jawa motorcycles that Mahindra-owned Classic Legends will showcase. It is sure to hit the right spots when it comes old school styling as one might mistake it for a classic 2-stroker from the Czech manufacturer.

As we can see from the image, the new Jawa carries forward the iconic maroon colour with the fuel tank receiving chromium treatment with golden pinstriping. The same maroon and gold finish carries on the front as well as rear mudguards. It features a single piece seat while the rider ergos seem to be fairly neutral with mid-set footpegs and flat wide handlebars.

Classic Legends had already divulged the information regarding the engine that will be powering it and you can read all about the new 293cc single cylinder mill here. What is interesting though is that it looks like a split cradle downtube frame which will act as the base for the new bike.

You get a conventional set of forks upfront with the classical fork shrouds extending all the way up to the instrument console like the old Jawas. Twin piggyback shocks are used at the rear. Brakes seem to be a dual piston calliper operating on a large disc at the front and a drum unit at the back with a single channel ABS to add to the safety aspect.

While more details on the bike will be divulged on November 15, we are sure that this Jawa bike is set to reignite the spark that motorcycle enthusiasts felt had gone missing for a while. It also will take on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 head on as both motorcycles are classically oriented motorcycles.
