- Hero Electric is known to make affordable electric scooters.
- The electric motorcycle will have performance comparable to a 125cc petrol-powered motorcycle.
- It will rival the Revolt RV400.
Hero Electric is all set to take the wraps off its first electric motorcycle at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020. While Hero hasn’t revealed its name yet, the motorcycle is claimed to have a top speed of 80kmph and is capable of covering 120km on a single charge. Although Hero Electric is known to make affordable electric scooters, the electric motorcycle is likely to be a premium proposition. We expect it to be priced at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi, without government subsidies).
There are no motor or battery specs available yet. The spotted bike seems to run on slightly premium components like a trellis frame, USD fork, rear monoshock and a chunky rear tyre. The bars are wide, the pegs are in a neutral position, the rider’s seat seems roomy and you get a split seat setup.
As is the norm with most electric vehicles, the Hero Electric motorcycle will get a full digital information console as well as smartphone connectivity. The lighting systems are likely to be LED units.
This new electric motorcycle could lock horns with the Revolt RV400. We will know further details about the motorcycle come Auto Expo 2020, which will take place from 6-12 February.
