SUV via Instagram. A close-to-production version of the HBC is expected to debut at Auto Expo 2020. The HBC will be based on Renault's low cost CMF-A platform also seen in the Kwid and Triber.
Renault's teaser shows a snippet of the HBC's headlamps featuring LED units and a stylish DRLs. A prototype of the HBC has already been in India. Renault's bold grille design and split headlamps looks familiar to the Kwid. In profile, the squared wheel arches and the large alloy wheels give it a good stance. That said, its silhouette looks more crossover than a SUV thanks to its flowing lines. At the rear, it comes with funkily designed LED tail lamps.
The interior design of the Renault HBC is expected to be similar to the Triber. Expected features include a touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, digital driver's instrument panel, steering-mounted audio controls and a multi-info display. It could also come with safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and a rear view camera.
The HBC could come with two petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre unit from the and a new 1.0-litre TCE100 turbo-petrol engine. It must be mentioned that the latter is present in various international Renaults and could be plonked in the Triber as well. Here's a detailed specifications table:
