. The 2020 i20 is slated for an official debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March. It sports a sharper exterior design, comes with more features and a cleaner set of engine options.

The 2020 i20's interior design doesn't have any traces of its predecessor. The central console comes with a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system which merges on to the digital instrument driver's display. We could also notice a hint of thanks to the faux AC vents on the co-driver's side. Also new is the chunkier 4-spoke steering wheel.

Notable features in the 2020 i20 include BlueLink connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, a Bose sound system, a wireless phone charger, drive modes and keyless entry with push-button start. Safety features include ABS with EBD, lane keep assist, drive attention warning and parking sensors.

Powering the 2020 i20 are two petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre T-GDI engine and a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol. The T-GDI engine is offered in two states of tune and also comes with a mild-hybrid option. Here's a detailed spec table:

We expect Hyundai to offer the 2020 i20 with a diesel engine in the Indian market. It could utilise a detuned version of the Seltos' 1.5-litre CRDI engine as Hyundai won't upgrade the existing 1.4-litre CRDI motor to meet BS6 emission norms.

Hyundai has already started testing the 2020 i20 in the Indian market ahead of its mid-2020 launch. Considering the expansive updates, expect prices to start over the current model's Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2020 Hyundai i20 will lock horns with the, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Honda Jazz.
