Force Motors took the wraps off the refreshed Gurkha at the Auto Expo 2020. The SUV now features various updates along with a BS6 heart. The carmaker has also tried to uplift the Gurkha's utilitarian image with various additions and here's what it is all about:
It retains its overall boxy silhouette and stance. The changes are to the front lights, grille, and bumper. The rear end also sees some updates in the form of a new bumper and a redesigned tail lamp. Force showcased a 3-door version of the Gurkha at the expo but these changes are also expected to trickle down to the 5-door versions.
The cabin, on the other hand, gets some major changes. It now features a touchscreen infotainment system, an MID between tacho and speedo. It also looks likehas improved upon the quality of the materials used. Some features are dual airbags, ABS, rear and parking sensors.
Under the hood is the 2.6 litre diesel engine that is now BS6-compliant. Output is rated at 90PS and 280Nm of torque. It uses a 5-speed manual, coupled with a low-range transfer case.Force has also showcased a heavily customised version of thedubbed Gurkha customized. This raised off-road centric version looks apocalypse ready with bits like a bull-bar, winch, off-road tyres, snorkel, and a rather interesting shade of green.
