Is this based on the Creon?
No. While some technology might be shared with the TVS Creon concept, the production-spec TVS iQube electric scooter is based on a different platform and used a smaller, less powerful powertrain.
Does it get a metal body like the Bajaj Chetak?
The Bajaj Chetak is the only electric scooter in India to get a metal body. Like other electric scooters, the TVS iQube gets a plastic fibre body.
What’s the battery capacity?
The TVS iQube electric scooter is powered by three li-ion batteries offering a total of 2.25kwh. It helps the iQube deliver a claimed range of 75kmph.
What is the range in eco mode?
Maximum range in eco mode is 75km. However top speed in eco mode is limited to 40kmph.
Is the battery removable?
No. Like the Bajaj Chetak and Ather 450, the TVS iQube gets a fixed battery pack.
How do you charge it?
The iQube is sold with a dedicated charging system. Other than that the electric scooter can be charged via a household 5 amp socket. TVS will also offer charging points at its dealerships and other spots in the city which can be found via the app.
Does it get a fast charger?
Neither TVS nor Bajaj offers fast charging for its scooters. This facility is only available in Ather scooters.
Can we ride it uphill?
TVS claims the iQube can climb a 10 degree gradient. While it is not as good as the Ather 450, gentle uphill slopes in the city should not pose much of a problem.
Is the iQube’s price premium over petrol-powered scooters worth it in the long run?
While a scooter has a high asking price, it has low running costs and low maintenance as a result of less moving parts. Hence, after the initial purchase, for the first 2-3 years, you spend less on running an electric scooter. Know the running costs between a petrol and electric scooter here.
What’s the price of the scooter?
The TVS iQube electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (on-road). It is currently available in Bengaluru and will soon be made available in other cities. Deliveries for the scooter will commence on January 27.
