Watch Video Review

Here’s some good news amidst all the negativity induced by the lockdown to contain coronavirus. Triumph Motorcycles has announced that it will be launching the new Street Triple RS in India on April 22. Our regular readers would know that the British brand was supposed to launch the naked bike on March 31, but owing to the COVID-19 lockdown the launch was postponed. The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS will be launched online and bookings for the bike will also commence online. We expect the new Triumph bike to be priced around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will not have any rivals as none of its competitors are BS6-complaint.

We have already ridden the upcoming motorcycle and you can read our review report here. The major update on the new Street Triple RS is in the engine department. The new motor maintains the same power output as its predecessor at 123PS but torque has increased by 2Nm to 73Nm. Triumph engineers have also worked on improving the mid-range power delivery of the new bike. You can read in depth about the mechanical improvements here. It also sports a bi-directional quick-shifter. Even the underpinning are similar to the older bike with the major update being the new Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP v3 tyres.

You think the updates on the new Street Triple RS have been fair or feel that Triumph could have offered something additional? Do mention them in the comments section.
