The BS6-compliant Vento comes with a new 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that develops 110PS of power and 175Nm of torque. It's offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter. The 1.6-litre MPI, 1.5-litre TDI, and the 1.2-litre TSI engines have been discontinued from the Vento's lineup. This means the Vento also loses out on the quick-shifting 7-speed DSG found in the diesel and turbo-petrol units.
The Vento BS6 locks horns with the, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, as well as the upcoming Honda City 2020 and Skoda Rapid TSI. Will the lack of a diesel engine be a black mark on its resume? Let us know in the comments below.
