  • The Xiaomi Mijia scooter has a claimed top speed of 25km.
  • It weighs just 12.5kg and is extremely portable too.
  • Feature list includes a digital display and different riding modes.

Usually known for its high-value smartphones, Xiaomi offers a couple of unique products from time to time. This time around, it has introduced a foldable electric scooter called the Xiaomi Mijia Scooter 1S. This compact little electric scooter weighs just 12.5kg and is priced at CNY 1,999 (that’s roughly Rs. 21,700) which is cheaper than the Redmi K20 Pro priced at Rs 26,000.

Its integrated battery pack is rated to deliver a claimed range of 30km on a single charge. A 500 Watt DC  hub motor mounted on the front wheel offers a claimed top speed of 25kmph. While that doesn’t sound like much, it should be perfect for daily runabouts. The motor even features regen, giving the batteries a small top up from time to time to let you go that extra mile.

The battery pack has a service life of 3,000 hours, which should keep the scooter on the road for a while. What’s even more interesting is the fact that this tiny portable scooter comes with a rear disc brake and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as standard.

The Xiaomi Mijia Scooter 1S isn't short on features either. It comes packed with a digital display that gives the rider useful information such as battery charge levels, Bluetooth and lock status. What’s more? It even comes with different riding modes, namely energy saving, normal, and sports.

Xiaomi is also known for following a simple and clean design language, and the scooter lives up to those standards. Well, at least in the pictures. It gets a white, black and satin black paint scheme with red accents and wire harnesses. There's no clutter either; all the wires are tucked away neatly, giving the scooter a clean look. For added convenience, the Mijia 1S also comes with a nifty side stand.

The Xiaomi Mijia Scooter 1S is available through several e-commerce platforms across China with the option to have it delivered internationally. So if you’re interested in one, perhaps you could order one online.
