- The bikes were said to be available from April 1 but they might have been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- No other mechanical changes reported.
- Despite the significant weight gain, the Jawa is much lighter than its chief rival: the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

Jawa has finally released the BS6 specs of both of its 293cc models: the Jawa and the Forty Two. We were unsure whether there would be any change in performance on the BS6 Jawas as the 293cc single-cylinder engine was already BS6-ready. Sadly, there is a small drop in performance. The bigger talking point though is the weight, which has shockingly gone up by 12 kilos!
The 293cc mill now puts out 26.51PS and 27.05Nm, a drop of just 0.49PS and 0.95Nm. It is still considerably more powerful than its competition -- the Royal Enfield Classic 350 -- that makes a mere 19.3PS.
We are astounded that the new BS6 Jawa and Jawa Forty Two tip the scales at 182kg each, which is a serious gain of 12 kilos! It might have to do with the fact that the Jawa motor is running a twin-port exhaust system but still 12kg is one of the highest weight gains that we have seen on a BS6 bike from its BS4 counterpart. The weight difference between the Jawas and the heavier BS6 Classic 350 has reduced from 24kg to just 13kg.
The Jawas have become a lot pricier too in their BS6 avatar with the price premium ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,928, depending on the colour model. To know about the new BS6 prices of the Jawas, check out this story.
