Carlin's Jehan Daruvala had a difficult day in the office with a 12th place finish in the feature race of round 4 of the FIA Formula 2 World Championship at Silverstone. Meanwhile, his teammate and fellow Red Bull junior driver Yuki Tsunoda snatched 3rd in the end via a final lap battle with ART's Christian Lundgaard.

Starting, the pitstop strategy was fairly standard for both Red Bull junior drivers. Daruvala took his mandatory pitstop by lap 8, with Tsunoda following up a lap later.

By the time the harder compound runners made their mandatory pitstop, Daruvala was running well in the top six and potentially a strong starting position for the sprint race, but the tyre advantage for the late stoppers saw Daruvala slowly dropping down the order. At the final lap while trying to find a way past the Prema of Mick Schumacher for 9th place, a major lockup in the final sector dropped Daruvala to 12th in the end.

Since Jehan Daruvala finished 12th in the feature race, his grid slot for tomorrow's 123km (21 laps) or 45 minute sprint race remains the same as the top eight finishers from the feature race will line up in a reversed grid order. This means that Yuki Tsunoda will line up 6th for the sprint race.

Daruvala will be hoping to overcome his recurring start-line gremlins for the sprint race which will commence on Sunday at 2:40pm (IST) and will be streamed live on the official F1 YouTube channel.
