Everyone’s been raving about the Kawasaki Ninja H2-based Bimota Tesi H2 ever since it was first unveiled in November last year. Not only does it look mean but it has a bespoke center-hub steering system that has enthusiasts going nuts over it. Only 250 of these unique machines are currently available for preorders in Europe. Sales will begin from October 2020 and it’ll cost around €64,000 (Rs 55.81 lakh) a pop! What’s interesting is the firepower, which up until now was purely speculative.
Right, so the Tesi H2 makes 231PS at 11500rpm through its 998cc inline four-cylinder engine, but pushes the envelope to 242PS using its ram air intake. It produces a massive 141Nm of peak torque at 11,000rpm. That’s the same power and torque figures as the Ninja H2. But the uniqueness of the Tesi H2 lies in its centre-hub steering system. Here’s how it functions.
While the Ninja H2 uses a trellis frame and a single sided swingarm, the Tesi H2 sticks to an aluminum chassis and a double sided swingarm for better torsional flex. This should not only make the hypersport extremely fast on the straights but also help it corner well to some extent. The brakes and tyres are pretty much the same as the ones used by Team Green with the only difference being the slightly small 220mm rear disc brake on the Tesi. The seat height is also surprisingly taller at 840mm as opposed to 825mm on the Ninja. However, Bimota does offer the option to increase or decrease the seat height by 10mm.
Yes, the Bimota Tesi H2 packs some unique kit, but it comes at a huge cost which puts it in between the Kawasaki Ninja H2 Carbon and the manic H2R. Only a lucky few will be able to get their hands on this Italian exocit but it might just be well worth it.
