It was another double-points finish for Carlin's Jehan Daruvala in round 9 of the FIA Formula 2 World Championship at Mugello, Italy, thanks to a 7th place finish in the sprint race. His teammate and fellow Red Bull junior driver Yuki Tsunoda had a difficult race to 19th in the end.
Starting, Daruvala held on to his starting position at the end of lap 1 but was closely shadowing the drivers ahead. In quick succession, the Indian driver was eventually running all the way up to 5th before the virtual safety car was called out.
But by the closing stages of the race, the Indian driver lost all grip left in his tyres and dropped down to 7th. The Indian driver just about held on to the position at the finish line by just three hundredths ahead of Marino Sato. Overall, yet another consistent run of results at Mugello with points finishes in both races.
With only three more rounds to go for the 2020 F2 season, racing action resumes after a week's break at Sochi for round 9 of the season from September 25-27.
