The MG Gloster is set to be launched in India soon. The flagship SUV for the brand in India, the Gloster will be available with a choice of diesel engines and in four variants. Bookings are currently open and buyers – depending on the variant – can option the SUV as either a 6- or 7-seater.

MG Gloster specifications
The Gloster is the longest and tallest SUV in the segment, measuring in at 4,985mm long, 1,867mm tall and 1,926mm wide. Even the wheelbase, at 2,950mm, is the longest in the segment.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre diesel engine in two states of tune. The lower Gloster Super and Smart trims will come with a 163hp and 375Nm, 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel engine with two-wheel drive.
The higher Gloster Sharp and Savvy will meanwhile pack in the more powerful 218hp and 480Nm, twin-turbo derivative of the same engine paired with shift-on-the-fly 4WD. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is standard.

The Gloster will be available in a choice of four colours – Agate Red, Metal Black, Metal Ash and Warm White.
MG Gloster competitors
The Gloster will rival the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas G4. Also expected to join the line-up is the yet-to-launch BS6-compliant Isuzu MU-X.
