Just when Harley-Davidson announced its partnership with Hero MotoCorp, Indian Motorcycle also revealed its big game plan for India by unveiling its 2021 Euro 5/ BS6-compliant lineup in the country. The company has updated all the previously existing models under the Indian Scout, Chief, Chieftain, FTR 1200, Challenger, Roadmaster, and Springfield range.
Apart from cleaner powertrains across all the models, the Scout range comes in new colours. The newly introduced Scout Bobber Twenty is essentially a more authentic take on the standard Bobber. It comes with taller ape-hanger handlebars, 16-inch spoke wheels, and a floating rider’s seat. The powertrain is the same 1133cc liquid-cooled V-twin unit as the regular Bobber, churning out 100PS and 97Nm. Even the underpinnings have remained unchanged: telescopic front fork, twin rear shock absorbers, and 298mm discs on both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.
Loaded geeks out there will be happy to know that the cream-of-the-crop cruiseliner of two wheels, the Roadmaster range, comes with Apple CarPlay as standard. The new Roadmaster Limited and the already-existing Roadmaster Dark Horse now also come with standard Clima Command Rogue seats which get both heating and cooling functions to keep your bum happy while munching miles. The Roadmaster Limited gets a slightly slimmer front fender, with a larger 19-inch front wheel, instead of the 17-incher on the standard model. It also rolls on more premium machined alloy wheels and comes with convenient remote-locking saddlebags.
The new Indian Vintage Darkhorse is basically the regular Vintage but in a more inconspicuous, blacked-out avatar. It gets a matte-black headlamp cowl minus the large windshield, a solo seat, blacked-out body panels and fenders, and an all-black waterproof soft pannier set. Indian says the launch and bookings of the new 2021 range will happen real soon. So which one of these bikes are you guys keen on? Let us know in the comments below.
