Watch Video Review

There’s very little left to know about the upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350. We already have a pretty decent idea of what it will look like, and we’ve even got our hands on the power and torque figures. Leaked brochure images mean that the features list is out in the open too, but this being a Royal Enfield single, there was still one important question looming: Will the new J platform engine retain the thump?

Well, now we can answer that for you, because a recent video from Royal Enfield teases us with a few brief but glorious seconds of the Meteor 350’s exhaust note. And we’re glad to report that the thump is still very much alive. And a nice, deep, full-bodied one at that. But it’s not quite the same as the one you’d hear on say a Classic 350. While the UCE motor’s soundtrack has become a bit subdued in the BS6 era, the J Platform engine seems to be a tad louder. But it also features a faster beat than the Classic’s lazy, slow thump, putting it closer to something like the erstwhile Continental GT 535.

As we close out the month of October, the Meteor’s 6 November launch date is just about a week away, and we’re sure you’re as excited as we are. The good news is that we’ll be riding the bike very soon, so feel free to ask us your questions in the comment section below and we’ll do our best to answer them in our upcoming review.
