- At least 10 pre-owned Triumph dealerships will be rolled out in the coming months.
- They could be called ‘Triumph Approved’ dealerships.
- The used bike lineup will be based on customer demand.
- Triumph is expecting a growth rate of 20-25 percent.
British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph is planning on launching its pre-owned bike programme by the end of October 2020. This comes as part of Triumph’s expansion plans for the country. At least three pre-owned dealerships will be launched by the end of this month, followed up by seven more by December-end. These showrooms will be called ‘Triumph Authorised’. The framework involves buying used bikes from customers, upgrading them, and selling them with a 1-year warranty.
The brand will also offer finance schemes on these bikes. So the experience will be similar to that of buying a brand new motorcycle. As for the products on offer, it will be based on customer demand. Triumph’s current India lineup comprises 13 products.
In FY21, Triumph aims to achieve a 20-25 percent growth over the previous fiscal year (FY19- 20). Its dealership network will grow from 14 to 16 locations in the coming year. These showrooms will be located in the South and East. Triumph had earlier planned to introduce four dealerships as part of its expansion plans.
That being said, the company has several launches planned over the next 12 months including its most affordable triple, the Trident 650. Triumph and Bajaj's venture will also give rise to a new breed of affordable premium motorcycles -- the first of which will be launched by 2022.
