Audi car prices to go up in 2021
Audi India hasn’t shared the exact model-wise increase in costs, or even specified which models will see a price hike. Sources say the price hike is for Audi’s CBU models, which means it is the Audi Q2, A8 L, Q8, RS Q8 and RS7 Sportback that are likely to see their ex-showroom prices go up.
For reference, the Q2, the new entry point to Audi ownership in India, was recently launched with prices ranging from Rs 34.99 – 48.89 lakh. The flagship A8 L retails at Rs 1.56 crore, with the Q8’s prices ranging from Rs 98.98 lakh – 1.33 crore. The RS7 Sportback costs Rs 1.94 crore, while the 600hp RS Q8 is priced at Rs 2.07 crore (all prices, ex-showroom). The Audi A6, meanwhile, is unlikely to witness a price hike.
Before Audi India, Mercedes-Benz India also hiked prices of select models in October. The Mercedes-Benz C-class, E-class and GLC witnessed a 2% increase in prices on account of rising input costs.
Audi India lines up multiple launches for 2021
With the transition to BS6 norms earlier this year, Audi India’s model line-up was down to just 3 cars in the first half of 2020. However, the company’s product plans are now back on track and a number of models are waiting in the wings, with Audi confirming its intention to launch a car every alternate month hereon.
The first of those is likely to be the facelifted S5 Sportback, which is set to be launched in the coming weeks. Another important launch will be that of the all-electric Audi e-tron SUV, and there will also be a number of models making their return in facelift guise. The refreshed Audi A4, Q5 and Q7 are all set to make their India comeback, and really giving Audi India a much needed shot in the arm in 2021 will be the launches of the new-gen Audi A3 sedan, its entry-level four-door, and the long-awaited next-gen Audi Q3.
