  • Its V4 motor delivers 170PS and 125Nm.
  • Desmodromic valve clearance service is set at 60,000km.
  • It gets radar-based cruise control.

Ducati’s all-new flagship Multistrada V4 is set to be globally revealed tomorrow. It will replace the Multistrada 1260 range. We have seen glimpses of the motorcycle through spy pics and official teasers. The highlight of the new motorcycle is the new V4 motor and a host of new technologies.

Going by the spy images, the new adventure tourer retains the familiar Multistrada silhouette but gets more aggressive lines. For one, the new LED headlamp unit is sharper. The new windscreen too appears to be taller. It also gets a new subframe. Besides all-LED lighting, colour TFT screen and Ducati Multimedia System, the Multistrada V4 gets a new radar-based cruise control. This tech has a radar on the front and back of the motorcycle which scans the speeds of vehicles around it and automatically adjusts speed accordingly.

The Multistrada V4 gets a new 1158cc V4 Granturismo motor that delivers 170PS at 10,500rpm and 125Nm at 8750rpm. It does not have the heady power output of the Streetfighter V4 or the Panigale V4, but it has been designed to offer more torque than the Streetfighter V4 at low revs. Another highlight of the motor is its exceptionally long service intervals. Regular service is now at 15,000km or two years. Ducati’s desmodromic valve clearance service is now set 60,000km apart! More details on the motor here

It is expected to get the Multistrada 1260S’s semi-active Skyhook suspension but that will be confirmed tomorrow. The Multistrada V4 will be launched in India sometime next year. It is expected to be priced around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Stay tuned tomorrow for more details.
