Imagine a car that you can pretty much turn into a leisurely retreat without the need to waste time on travel. Well, has done just that with the just unveiled Vision Urbanaut Concept. This radical concept boasts futuristic tech, spacious interiors and a design that's unlike any other Mini.
Measuring at 4460m in length, the Vision Urbanaut is a cutesy van on wheels. That said, there's plenty of futuristic bits to talk about. Up front you get a matrix headlight setup that connects with an illuminated light bar that is only visible if you turn it on. This setup is also applied to the rear taillights that sport a swanky pattern. Another notable bit are the illuminated skateboard-themed wheels that can be synced with your audio system to emit a cool illumination with every beat.
Heading inside via a large sliding door, the cabin is the biggest X-factor of the Vision Urbanaut. Despite its length it is actually a four-seater, which translates to oodles of space. In addition to this, when the car is stationary, its dashboard is lowered and the driver's area becomes a seating corner. Essentially you could have a living room in the Vision Urbanaut concept. There's also three customisation profiles: Vibe,Chill and Wanderlust, that provide a different setup of music, ambient lighting and instrument cluster interfaces.
While detailed technical specifications haven't been revealed yet, we do know that the Mini Vision Concept is an all-electric van. It also comes with autonomous driving tech.
The Mini Vision Urbanaut concept may be quite the futuristic van, it's unfortunately a one-off model that is unlikely to make it to production. But we can expect some tech to make its way to future models.
