. However, if you're waiting for a new Skoda, Volkswagen or an Audi TDI model, we have some disappointing news for you. The entire VW Group is planning to get rid of diesel models in the BS6 era. Yes, you read that right.

Currently, it has the 1.5-litre TDI, 2.0-litre TDI and 3.0-litre TDI engines in the country powering various models. These powertrains won't be upgraded to meet BS6 emission norms and will be phased out by April 2020. However, the VW Group could bring back diesel variants in case of healthy demand in the BS6 era. Meanwhile, if you intend to buy a new TDI car, now is the right time as Skoda and VW are offering good discounts on their diesel cars.
