After being concept. While it will be more or less similar to the Harrier in terms of design, what we can make out from the spy pictures and the teaser released today is the altered design of the D-pillar and the boot.
The new SUV looks to have a more upright and boxy design and also gets roof rails, which are not offered on the Harrier. The boot has also been redesigned and we can spot a much larger windshield at the rear to make it roomier inside. The new SUV is likely to have the same wheelbase as the Harrier, which is the best in segment at 2741mm. However, it could be a tad longer to accommodate an extra row of seating inside. The test mule spotted earlier has also hinted at larger 18-inch alloy wheels for the upcoming SUV.
Under the bonnet, the new SUV will pack the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that we've seen in the Harrier. However, it is likely to be tuned to make more power and torque (173PS/350Nm instead of 140PS/350Nm). The Harrier's elder brother will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox alongside a 6-speed torque converter automatic as well.
