- The scooter was spied testing recently with a host of updates.
- It’ll also be the first FI equipped scooter to roll out of Honda’s factory.
- Expect a premium of Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 over its current pricing.
Honda is set to launch its first BS 6-compliant two-wheeler today. While the bikemaker hasn’t confirmed what the product might be, we’ve come to know that it is likely to be the updated Honda Activa 125.
The brand has also confirmed that this new two-wheeler will come equipped with fuel injection. If it is indeed the Activa 125, this will make it India’s second only FI scooter after the recently launched Hero Maestro Edge 125 FI.

The scooter was recently spied testing with a host of other upgrades as well. This includes a subtle design change to give it a more premium feel, and a semi-digital instrument cluster that reportedly comes equipped with Bluetooth connectivity. If we had to guess, we believe the scooter will feature Honda’s Idle Stop System, similar to Hero’s i3S (Idle Stop Start System).
We expect it to be powered by the same 125cc air-cooled engine with the addition of fuel injection. Not only will this help it run cleaner, it will also provide better fuel efficiency and smoother power delivery. Whether or not the Activa 125 will get a power bump remains to be seen. In its current form, the scooter makes 8.6PS of power at 6500rpm and 10.54Nm of torque at 5000rpm.
With these updates, we expect the 2019 Honda Activa 125 to command a premium of Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 over its current pricing of Rs 60,347 (ex-showroom Delhi). Once launched, it’ll compete against the TVS NTorq 125 (Rs 58,252) and Hero Maestro Edge 125 (Rs 58,500), both prices ex-showroom Delhi.
