  • It's been 28 years since the EB110 debuted.
  • The Centodieci is based on the Bugatti Chiron.
  • It borrows various design cues from the EB110.
  • Expected to use the same 8.0-litre W16 engine from the Chiron.

Did you know that-based hypercar that goes by the name Centodieci ( which quite literally translates to 110). Leaked ahead of its scheduled debut at Pebble Beach, here's how it looks:

Bugatti was revived in the 90s under the ownership of an Italian entrepreneur, setting up a facility within walkable distance from Ferrari's empire in Modena. The EB110 packed a 3.5-litre quad-turbocharged V12 that made 560PS and 610Nm of torque. Penned to life by the venerable Marcello Gandini, it was the EB110 that paved the way for modern supercars and most importantly the Bugatti we know today.

The Centodieci that we see here is basically a Chiron in a new costume. It features various distinct design cues like the cheese-grater holes, air intakes on haunches, and the iconic Bugatti horseshoe grille. The rear end features a very complex design language which is accentuated by the huge wing and the complicated diffuser setup. But there is no hiding its underpinnings as the Chiron's bulk can be seen peeking out at various places. The wedge-shaped EB110 might not be the prettiest car from the bygone era but there is something to it that made it stand out from the crowd. It's an oddball, but in a weird and satisfying way.

The perks of having a Chiron underneath is that you might also get the 8.0-litre W16 powerhouse which makes a modest 1500PS and 1600Nm of torque. Warp speed is 420kmph while the 100kmph from standstill comes up in 2.4 seconds. Interiors and further technical details are still under wraps but will most likely be based on you know what.

Various reports state that Bugatti will limit the production to 10 units and each will be priced at around $9.0 million ( around Rs 70 crore). That is a ridiculous amount of money for a car which is based on a Chiron ($3.0 million). Want some consumer advice? Buy three used original EB110s, and then use the rest of the money to find a cure for cancer.
