Ford recently launched the BS6-compliant Freestyle, with prices now starting at Rs 5.89 lakh and going up to Rs 8.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Interestingly, the new prices make the Freestyle more affordable that the outgoing BS4 model as prices have come down by as much as Rs 27,000, depending on the variant.

Coming to the engines, the BS6 Freestyle, as with its siblings, can be had with either a 1.2-litre petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol unit is good for 96hp and 119Nm of torque, while the larger 1.5 diesel puts out 100hp and 215Nm of torque. Both units come paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Moving to fuel efficiency, the BS6-compliant petrol engine has a claimed 18.5kpl figure while the BS6 diesel is rated at 23.8kpl.

The Freestyle is available in four trim levels – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, Titanium+ – with a new mid-spec Trend variant replacing the previously offered Trend+ trim. The petrol engine can be specced in all four variants though the diesel is only available from the Trend variant onwards.
