With the new, more stringent BS6 emission norms just a few months away from coming into effect (April 1, 2020), carmakers have been frantically releasing BS6-compliant versions of their models. Hyundai is no different, as it has also launched a number of models over the past few months with BS6 engines (Grand i10 Nios, Elantra, Santro, Aura), with more set to launch in the coming weeks. We have compiled a list of the discounts available on all the BS6-compliant Hyundai models, below.
Hyundai Elantra BS6
Save up to Rs 1.10 lakh
Hyundai recently updated the Elantra executive sedan with updated styling and kit, along with a BS6-compliant engine. The styling updates include a new grille, reworked bonnet, revised front and rear bumpers, new headlights, LED DRLs and new tail-lights. Its BS6 engine is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol unit that is good for 152hp and 192Nm of torque. The Skoda Octavia and Honda Civic rival can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Hyundai dealers across the country are offering the Elantra with discounts and benefits worth up to Rs 1.10 lakh.
Hyundai Santro BS6
Save up to Rs 40,000
The all-new Santro was launched in India back in October 2018, with the model’s 69hp/ 99Nm, 1.1-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine recently being updated to become BS6-compliant. In the transition to the stricter emission norms, the Santro’s prices have seen an increase of around Rs 27,000, depending on the variant. Its styling and equipment remain the same as the BS4 model, as do the gearbox options, which include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic. The Santro rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and the Tata Tiago, both of which also have BS6 engines. Hyundai dealers are offering discounts and benefits worth up to Rs 40,000 on the BS6-compliant Santro.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios BS6
Save up to Rs 30,000
Although the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is technically the second generation of the Grand i10 in India, it is being sold alongside the latter. The Grand i10 Nios differentiates itself from the standard Grand i10, with its new interior and exterior design, along with additional equipment like a 5.3-inch part-digital instrument cluster, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and wireless charging, and more available on the top-spec model. The Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo rival is only available with a single BS6-compliant engine – the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 83hp and 114Nm of torque. There is also a 1.2-litre diesel engine on offer with the Nios, though this unit is BS4-compliant. Dealers are offering the BS6 1.2-litre petrol engine with discounts worth up to Rs 30,000.
