  • The new Hero Glamour 125 gets a diamond frame.
  • It comes with a real-time mileage indicator, start-stop system and a crawl function.
  • Is available in two variants: disc and drum.

Hero has launched the all-new Glamour 125 BS6 in India. The new motorcycle is available in two variants: drum and disc. While the drum variant is priced at Rs 68,900, the top-end disc brake variant is priced at Rs 72,400 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi), which is just Rs 1,450 more than the BS4 model!

When we say all-new, we mean brand-spanking new! This Glamour 125 Fi has got a new diamond frame instead of the tubular double cradle chassis seen on the previous model. The bike maker hasn’t revealed the power and torque figures, but it says that the new, fuel injected, BS6-compliant 125cc motor makes 19 per cent more power than before. For perspective, the old motor produced around 12PS of power at 7500rpm. More importantly, Hero has equipped the new Glamour with a five-speed gearbox instead of the four-speed gearbox in the previous iteration.

The other main difference between the old and the new Glamour 125 is the underpinnings. Hero claims the updated suspension setup offers better travel than the BS4 model. The manufacturer also claims that the new Glamour 125 has a 100mm wide rear tyre, which should offer better stability. We will reserve our opinions on how the motorcycle performs in the real world until we get our hands on one.

In terms of features, it comes with a crawl function, likely similar to the one seen on TVS’ new Apache motorcycles. It also gets a start-stop system and real-time mileage indicator.

In terms of rivals, the BS6 Glamour 125 goes up against the new Honda SP125 and the Bajaj Pulsar 125
