  • Hyundai, Toyota, Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki's manufacturing facilities will remain closed until further notice from the government.
  • Maruti Suzuki will shut production and office operations at its facilities in Gurugram and Manesar.

In the wake of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, the central government and various state governments are moving forward with restrictions such as a complete lockdown to break the chain of the spread. Complying with this, have decided to halt production at their facilities until further notice. Here are all the details:

Maruti Suzuki

The carmaker has been following precautions such as sanitization and hygiene but due to the government policy, has decided to halt production until further notice. It will shut production and office operations at its facilities in both Gurugram and Manesar, Haryana. This decision will be implemented with immediate effect. Furthermore, the Randamp;D facility in Rohtak will also remain closed.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor

In accordance with the Karnataka government's decision that intensive industries should work at 50 per cent of their strength,has decided to stop production at its plant in Bidadi, Karnataka. Toyota has also extended work from home for all of its employees in regional business units in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru.

Honda India

Honda India has informed that all of its associates and suppliers will halt production at its manufacturing plants in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh and Tapukara, Rajasthan until March 31. The company has also given work from home for associates in zonal and regional locations. Honda's leadership will monitor the situation and it plans to restart production from April 1. However, this will depend on advice from government and health officials.

Hyundai India

Hyundai India has also decided to suspend production at its Chennai facility until further notice. The carmaker will wait for Tamil Nadu government's orders until it restarts operations. Meanwhile, Hyundai Cares' has announced measures such as 24x7 roadside assistance, extended support of two months for free service and availing vehicle warranty and extended warranty. Furthermore,will deploy 1,000 roadside assistance bikes and cars for extended support.

FCA India

FCA India/Jeep India has announced that it will suspend production from its manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon. Fiat's decision is followed by the government's orders to temporarily close operations to keep employees safe. The Ranjangaon facility will remain closed till March 31 but all workforce will receive their salary during this period.

Mahindra

Mahindra and Mahindra has announced that it will suspend all activities at its Nagpur, Chakan and Kandivali plants in Maharashtra district. The latter two facilities will remain closed from March 23 while the former has already suspended operations. Meanwhile, all employees from all Mahindra offices across the country have started working from home.

MG Motor India

has announced that it has started the Disinfect and Driver initiative where it will ensure that all test drives and deliveries will be completely sanitized. This means that all the delivery and test drive vehicles will be properly disinfected before use.
