While there's a long wait for the will get a Night Eagle Edition in India very soon. The Compass Night Eagle Edition was first introduced in 2017 at the Brazilian market before it showed up in Europe at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The main talking point about this special edition Compass is that it gets a variety of blacked-out bits. It is likely to sit above the Longitude Plus variant in India considering that it is placed between the Longitude and Limited variants in the European market.

Aside from the all-black exterior body shade, it will get blacked-out bits on areas like the front grille, Jeep Compass badging, window surrounds and roof rails as seen on the Euro-spec model. Its 18-inch wheels will also get the blacked-out treatment.

As is the case on the outside, the cabin will get blacked out features as well. Some of them include a bespoke part leather/part fabric seat upholstery; and black accents around the AC vents, infotainment system and steering wheel. Since it is likely to sit above the Longitude Plus variant, it could get additional features like an 8.4-inch UConnect touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-tone roof, LED tail lamps, panoramic sunroof and auto dimming inside rear-view mirror.

Under the hood, the Jeep Compass Night Eagle Edition will soldier on with the 1.4-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine options, same as the Longitude Plus. The former makes 163PS and 250Nm whereas the latter delivers 173PS and 350Nm. Transmission options will remain unchanged, with the petrol mill being paired to a 7-speed DCT. The diesel mill will be offered with a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic (only 4x4 variants).

Expect the Jeep Compass Night Eagle Edition to retail at a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the current Longitude Plus variant that retails from Rs 19.69 lakh (petrol) to Rs 22.86 lakh (diesel 4x4) (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Compass continues to take on the likes of the in the Indian market.
