  • It gets bigger wheels, lower ground clearance and RS badges on the outside.
  • Interior highlights include alcantara seats, a bigger touchscreen and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
  • Is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol mill making 245PS/370Nm.

With the Indian government starting to ease up the COVID-19 lockdowns, Skoda has finally been able to deliver the much talked about for the high performance sedan opened on March 1 for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh.

The Octavia RS245 is available in five shades: Rallye Green, Race Blue, Corrida Red, Magic Black and Candy White. It gets cosmetic changes like bigger 18-inch wheels, 15mm lower ground clearance and dedicated RS badges all over.

Interior highlights in the Octavia RS245 include Alcantara sports seats, flat-bottom steering wheel and RS badging. It also gets a digital instrument display and a bigger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The biggest difference in the Octavia RS245 is under the hood of course. It is powered by the same 2.0-litre TSI engine from the RS230 but in a higher state of tune, making 245PS of power and 370Nm of torque. This makes it 15PS and 50Nm more powerful than the RS230. The 2.0-litre TSI petrol mill is paired to a 7-speed DSG and you also get an electronic limited slip differential to help you put down all that power cleanly. All this gives the sedan a 0-100kmph sprint time of 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 250kmph. It also gets a vRS mode which alters the characteristics of the engine and stability control systems.

Expect more units to roll out as lockdown restrictions ease up even further.
