The long list of Honda BS6 launches just got even longer with the introduction of the Honda Livo BS6, starting at Rs 69,422 (ex-showroom Rajasthan). This represents a more stylish and feature-rich 110cc offering compared to the rather utilitarian CD 110 Dream BS6 launched last month. Variant-for-variant, the Livo BS6 is over Rs 10,000 more expensive than its BS4 predecessor!
The Livo is powered by the same 109.51cc engine as the CD 110, where it produces 8.8PS and 9.3Nm. While output figures might be slightly lower than before, it's quite likely that fuel efficiency has gone up, which is what buyers in this segment will really care about.
This bump up in efficiency is because the motor is now fuel-injected. Another piece of modern tech on the engine is the silent ACG starter. Honda has also thrown in new features like an engine kill-switch and side-stand cut-off. Instrumentation continues to be a semi-digital affair but the console now features a new design.
One area that hasn’t been messed around with is underpinnings. The bike is held together by the same single-downtube cradle frame suspended on a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. The Standard variant is stopped by 130mm drum brakes at both ends while the Deluxe version sports a 190mm front disc.
The Livo’s stiffest competition comes from the likes of the TVS Star City Plus BS6 and Hero Passion Pro BS6.
