We all know that plenty of times and is reminiscent of the Kwid. Now, spy shots of the interior have surfaced online for the first time. How does it look? Let's find out.
Though the interior shares certain bits with the Triber, it comes with plenty of new design elements to differentiate it from the sub 4-metre MPV. For starters, the dashboard is finished in black and it gets a floating infotainment system that gives it a relatively modern look. We can also notice chunky climate control knobs and the new digital instrument display which is likely to be a coloured unit. Bits borrowed from the Triber include the placement of the engine start-stop button, glove boxes, and the steering wheel which now features controls for the audio system and cruise controls.
The keen-eyed will notice that this particular test mule features a two-pedal setup, hinting that it could be the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol variant with a CVT. This engine is likely to develop 100PS and should be offered with a manual transmission as well. Base variants of the HBC could come with the 72PS 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox option.
Considering the tough competition, one can expect Renault to load the HBC with features. From the above spy shot, we can notice a touchscreen infotainment system that should feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, cruise control, keyless entry with push button start, steering-mounted audio controls as well as a digital instrument display. On the safety front, it should feature four airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with a camera, and electronic stability control.
The Renault HBC is expected to reach showrooms by October 2020 at a likely starting price of Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, and the upcoming Nissan Magnite.
