  • Car collectors can now replace their tired old XK engines of their beloved Jaguars from the 60s with a brand new one.

  • The XK engine originally powered the XK150, XK150 S, MkIX, Mk2, MkX, E-type Series 1, and S-type.

  • The new engine will come with a 12-month warranty and a certificate of authenticity.

In a "blast from the past" worthy moment, Jaguar Classic has reintroduced the legendary XK engine. Built to exact specifications as the original, the engine block will be the first replacement to be available in over 50 years. The direct replacement for engines of many cars from the 1950s-60s is priced at andeuro; 14,380 plus VAT. Jaguar Classic also announced that for eligibility to purchase the brand new motor, a certificate of ownership has to be presented.

The famous E-type Series 1 along with the XK150, XK150 S, MkIX, Mk2, Mkx, and S-type, were all powered by this legendary inline-six machine. The Jaguar saloons and sports cars produced from 1958-1968 haven't seen a replacement engine in 50 years

This move is unprecedented enough that putting it into perspective will require a ridiculous hypothetical. Imagine if Fiat decided to introduce a replacement 1.1-litre 48PS petrol engine for the Padmini, or more affectionately known as the Black and Yellows of Mumbai, almost 60 years after its introduction in India.

If the owner chooses, they can retain the same serial number as the one being replaced, albeit with an asterisk. If not, a new serial number will be issued.

Available on a global scale, the six-pot veteran comes with a 12-month (24 months in UK and Germany) Jaguar parts and accessories warranty and certificate of authenticity. The warranty will get void in case you decide to get naughty with the car or alter it in any way.
