After a delay due to the coronavirus pandemic, Hyundai has finally launched the in India with prices starting from Rs 22.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Offered in two variants: GL (O) and GLS, it gets a minor design revamp, revised interiors, additional equipment as well as BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines.

The above table reveals that the L and GL variants have been axed from the Tucson's lineup with the GLS now available in a 2WD option. Petrol variants are now cheaper by Rs 16,000(GLO) and Rs 21,000 (GLS), whereas the diesel variants are pricier by Rs 6,000 (GL (O) and Rs 12,000 (GLS 4WD) respectively.
Upgrades to the exterior include a sharper grille with revised LED headlamps as well as a revised front bumper. Other changes include a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels and subtle tweaks at the rear like new detailing for the LED tail lamps, a redesigned boot lid and a revised license plate.
The updated Tucson also gets a refresh on the inside with all-black upholstery and a revised dashboard consisting of a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Features consist of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, BlueLink connected car technology, wireless phone charging, Infinity sound system, cruise control, powered front seats, keyless entry, and auto headlamps and wipers. Safety kit includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, hill start assist, and hill descent control.
Under the hood, it is powered by BS6-compliant 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine produces 3PS less at 152PS but delivers the same 192Nm of peak torque. The diesel motor churns out 185PS and 400Nm despite the upgrades needed to comply with BS6 emission norms. The petrol option is paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, whereas the diesel engine is paired to a new 8-speed automatic. The diesel engine also gets the option of a 4WD drivetrain.
