Back in February, when the, the carmaker had hinted at a launch somewhere around March/April. The coronavirus pandemic threw a wrench into those plans, but now our sources suggest the updated SUV will be launched in India on July 14, 2020.
The new Tucson will be updated on the outside with bits like a sharper cascading grille, new LED headlamps and sharper bumpers. Other changes include new dual-tone alloy wheels and a revised set of LED tail lamps on the bumpers.
Inside, the Tucson features revisions to the dashboard with the highlight being a floating touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, BlueLink connected car technology, keyless entry with push-button start, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, auto headlamps and wipers as well as powered front seats. Safety kit includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electric parking brake with auto-hold, hill start assist, and hill descent control.
Under the hood, the Tucson facelift will continue to be powered by 2.0-litre diesel and petrol engines, albeit with a BS6 upgrade. The diesel mill produces 185PS/400Nm whereas the petrol engine delivers 152PS/200Nm. Both engines are paired to a 6-speed manual with an automatic transmission available as an option. The top-spec diesel variant will also have an optional all-wheel-drive system.
Prices are yet to be revealed but we expect the updated Tucson to come at a premium over the current model that retails from Rs 18.76 lakh to Rs 26.97 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will take on the.
