- It’s the first bobber motorcycle from an Indian manufacturer.
- Deliveries for the bike got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- In its current form, the Perak makes more power and torque than what it was supposed to initially.
Jawa Perak deliveries have commenced in the Indian market. The Perak was showcased earlier this year and deliveries for the bobber were supposed to start on April 2, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the timeline was pushed ahead by a few months. While the delay in deliveries would have been a bit irritating for its customers, Jawa has more than made up for it. The BS6-compliant 334cc liquid-cooled motor now delivers 30.64PS and 32.74Nm, a bump of 0.2PS and 1.74Nm over the specs of the launch bike. Talking about price, the Jawa Perak retails for Rs 1,94,500, which makes it the most expensive bike from Jawa on sale in India.
To ensure complete safety of its dealer staff and customers, Classic Legends has put in place a comprehensive standard operating procedure across all Jawa dealerships. One of the first Jawa Perak customers hails from Hyderabad while the Chandigarh dealership which delivered 13 bikes organised a small ride for Perak owners.
Jawa also has announced a new finance scheme for the Perak. Buyers have the option to either opt for a 50 percent discount on the first three EMIs or select the Rs 6,666 EMI plan. Additionally, the brand is also offering 100 percent finance and zero downpayment on the new bike.
The Jawa Perak, the most affordable bobber motorcycle on sale in India, will be available only as a single-seater: there is no provision to add a pillion seat. Bobbers in general are a niche category of motorcycles and the Jawa Perak has no direct rivals in the Indian two-wheeler space. Classic Legends launched the Jawa BS6 range some months back.
