KTM has started rolling out the updated BS6 250 Duke across India. What’s changed? Well, the bike now features an all-LED headlight borrowed from its elder sibling, the 390 Duke. It has started reaching dealerships and is expected to be launched in the next couple of weeks. As you’d expect, there is a bump in price of around Rs3,968, which pushes the cost of the 250 Duke to Rs 2,09,280 (ex-showroom Delhi). Those interested can book the bike for a nominal amount of Rs 1,000 or Rs 5,000.

The move could be in response to the introduction of rivals like the Dominar 250 and the Husqvarna 250 twins that offer a LED headlight as standard at a lower price point. The addition could make the 250 Duke a bit more tempting, especially considering the fact that the 390 Duke has become fairly costly. On the flip side, the only way to distinguish the two models now is through the paint scheme and the full-colour TFT display on the 390. Apart from the new headlamp, the 250 Duke remains unchanged.

It's powered by a 248.8cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor that makes 30PS and 24Nm. The BS6 update brought with it a 43mm WP upside-down open cartridge fork from the 390 and a Supermoto mode for little sideways action.

On a side note, KTM has announced a special scheme for its product lineup wherein customers have the opportunity to win an iPhone 11 and some cool KTM merchandise every week if they were to put down a downpayment of around 15,000. As an added benefit, you will also receive a 5-year or 45,000km warranty on the bikes along with free roadside assistance for a year. If that wasn’t enough, dealerships will also offer a return on invoice for the bike’s insurance cover. That means if your bike were to be stolen, you’d receive a full insurance cover for the on-road price of the bike instead of the ex-showroom cost.
