KTM has been busy expanding its product portfolio for a while now and even when it comes to the Indian market, we have options starting from 125cc right up to the 790 Duke. However, one of its most ambitious projects was to enter the scooter segment and many readers would remember the radical KTM E-Speed concept that was showcased in 2013. The electric scooter project was almost finalised before KTM bossman Stefan Pierer pulled the plug since he felt the market hadn't matured enough.

All that changed last year when KTM announced that it will have an electric range of scooters and motorcycles by 2022. In fact, reports suggest the upcoming KTM electric scooter will be based on the new Bajaj Chetak! Austria’s Motorrad-Magazin has posted a new sketch giving us an idea what the KTM electric scooter might look like. As expected, the design looks like an evolution of the KTM E-Speed with sharp and eccentric lines. One could also see some contrasting orange-coloured elements on the scooter which is a KTM hallmark.

More details here: Here’s What We Would Like To See In KTM’s Upcoming Electric Scooter

KTM isn’t the only brand that’s developing a range of electric scooters with images of the Husqvarna electric scooter emerging last year. Like KTM, even the Husqvarna electric scooter range is expected to debut in 2022. Unlike the radical styling of KTM, the Husky scooter looks more conservative.
