Royal Enfield’s success in recent times can be attributed to one model, the Classic 350. This roadster has been around for decades, and is much loved by Enfield enthusiasts across India. Royal Enfield has had to keep up with times as the Classic 350 now gets modern elements. Here's all you need to know about RE’s bread earner:

Retains Old School Looks
With a name like Classic, you can’t expect anything other than that from Royal Enfield, can you? Its round and bulbous tank, single-piece sprung seat and hand-painted pinstripes (on certain colour options) is reminiscent of the bikes of the heydays of British roadsters. There are loads of colour options to choose from, with our picks being the chrome and the chestnut colour scheme.

Gets Alloy Rims
Along with the BS6 updates, Royal Enfield has kitted the Classic 350 BS6 with alloy rims. These are only available on the dual-channel ABS variant and in Stealth Black or the Gunmetal Grey colour options. Other trims get spoke rims like before.

BS6 Hasn’t Affected Performance
It was earlier believed that the new J-platform engine would replace the UCE mill. However, Royal Enfield has still persisted with the same old 346cc thumper. It produces a little less power now, churning out 19.3PS now compared to 20PS in its BS4 emission norms. Thankfully, the charm of the motor is its torqueyness, producing 28Nm even now.

Has Become Pricey
Pricing of the Classic 350 has gone up by a significant Rs 11,000 for the single-channel ABS version and Rs 12,000 for the dual-channel one. It is now priced at Rs 1.57 lakh and 1.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new prices certainly make the motorcycle a lot pricier.

Is Still The Affordable One In Its Class
The Jawa is the only one of the two roadsters that has received its BS6 updates. The single-channel ABS of the Jawa is Rs 14,000 and the dual-channel one is Rs 17,000 dearer than the Classic 350. Recently, the Benelli Imperiale 400 received its BS6 update and now costs Rs 35,000 more than the dual-channel ABS version of the Classic 350.
