Suzuki has rolled out its five-millionth two-wheeler from its Gurugram manufacturing facility at Kherki Dhaula. The milestone unit is the new BS6-compliant Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.
Commenting on the milestone, Koichiro Hirao, managing director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “This year, Suzuki Motor Corporation celebrates its 100-year anniversary. We are thrilled to add another feather to our success story in India by rolling out the five millionth Suzuki two-wheeler product. This milestone is a testimony to the immense love and trust reposed by our customers on Suzuki products. We dedicate this achievement to all our customers, and our dealer partners and employees who have played a significant role in making our journey successful in India.”
Suzuki Motorcycle India has seen positive sales growth over the past years. In fact, it was the only manufacturer to have not dipped in the red in FY2020. The Japanese brand managed to increase its year-on-year sales by 2.46 percent, to a total of 6,85,223 units. The largest contributor for the brand is the Suzuki Access 125, which also leads the 125cc scooter sales chart.
Currently, the company has more than 530 dealerships and recently announced the ‘Suzuki at your Doorstep’ programme. The new initiative enables doorstep sales and aftersales service, reducing the need for a customer to visit a dealership.
