Generates 1200kg of downforce at 250kmph and boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 1.66PS per kg.
it on its website. Developed with the help of its 'Squadra Corse' motorsport division that not only participates in GT competitions around the world but also organises the Super Trofeo one-make championship, the Essenza SCV12 is a track-only hypercar boasting a poster worthy design and mental performance.
Let's get to the creme de la creme of the Essenza SCV12, and that's under the hood. It is Lamborghini's most powerful raging bull to date with an inhouse- designed naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 capable of delivering more than 830PS of outright power. The V12 mill is paired to a new X-trac six-speed sequential gearbox (from Super Trofeo Evo race car), with power being distributed to its rear wheels.
The Essenza SCV12's massive engine grunt is helped by what Lamborghini claims as 'aerodynamic supercharging' at high speeds. It basically uses the hypercar's double air intake and a central rib to direct airflow to the ram-air intake scoop on the roof. And as the car speeds up, the air pressure sent to the engine's intake increases manifold, thereby creating extra power.
Aside from outright grunt, the Essenza SCV12 boasts better aerodynamic efficiency and higher downforce levels than a GT3-spec race car, with downforce figures of 1,200 kg at 250 kmph. It also gets a push-rod rear suspension system, a fully carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, and a power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 PS/kg for optimal handling around a racetrack.
As far as looks are concerned, the Essenza SCV12 is definitely one for the poster walls with an interesting body shade that's a combination of dual-tone black and green with thin copper colour accents all around. Notable design traits include a prominent front splitter coupled with small hexagonal LED lights below, vertical fins on the side gills, and massive fins at the rear diffuser coupled with a large, adjustable double profile carbon-fibre rear wing. Keeping the hypercar from flying off are bespoke slick Pirelli rubber wrapped around 19-inch front and 20-inch rear magnesium wheels with brake discs and calipers developed by Brembo Motorsport helong in peak stopping power.
Since the Essenza SCV12 is a harcore track-focused hypercar, it is not surprising that it doesn't feature creature comforts on the inside. It comes with an F1-inspired steering wheel and specific FIA homologated OMP seats with carbon shells for optimum safety. Interestingly, it is also the first GT car developed to respect FIA prototype safety rules.
The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is so elusive, that even if you buy one, you won't get to keep it in your garage. It will remain parked at a hangar earmarked for the Essenza SCV12 club in Sant'Agata Bolognese. However, the limited 40 buyers will be able to monitor their new toy through a webcam round the clock.
Customers of the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 will participate in special programs to drive their hypercar on numerous FIA Grade 1 homologated circuits around the world. They will be guided by Squadra Corse engineers and five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Emanuele Pirro.
