  • The Jupiter was one of the first TVS products to meet BS6 norms.
  • You no longer get the Grande or a front disc version.
  • Price premium isn’t too high.

It was just last month that TVS started asking more moolah for the Jupiter and now the Hosur-based manufacturer has once again increased prices of its highly popular scooter. The new prices aren’t too steep but still, there is no front disc variant to be found. Here are the new ex-showroom Delhi prices:

Variant

Old Price

New Price

Difference

Standard

Rs 62,062

Rs 63,102

Rs 1,040

ZX

Rs 64,062

Rs 65,102

Rs 1,040

Classic

Rs 69,602

Rs 68,562

Rs 1,040

This price revision comes just a day after TVS launched its final BS6 scooter: the Scooty Zest. The new Scooty Zest is priced precariously close to the Jupiter. Hence, TVS might have decided to increase the price of the latter by just a smidge to create some breathing room for the two scooters to co-exist.

As a whole though, the TVS Jupiter BS6 now costs Rs 10,000 more than what it did in its BS4 guise. That is a lot of money for pretty much just fuel injection and extra bits in the catalytic converter. But the materials used to improve vehicular emissions aren’t cheap and cannot be sourced locally in abundance. Hence, vehicles, especially two-wheelers, are getting costlier. Hopefully, this will be the last price revision for the scooter this year.
