Honda CBR600RR Race Version Launch In January 2021

• The new CBR600RR was unveiled with a whole host of updates.

Revered as one of the best supersports ever made, Honda’s CBR600RR has been spruced up for 2021. The 600cc inline-four beaut now delivers more power, gets small winglets, and is surprisingly tech laden. While it will only be restricted to the likes of Japan, the US and other such countries that do not have stringent emission norms like Europe, racing enthusiasts still have a chance to own this legend in its pure track form. Behold, the CBR600RR Race version.
Just as you would have imagined, the CBR600RR Race has done away with road-specific elements that aren’t needed for racing. So off go the mirrors, pillion seat, footpegs and even the mudguard. It might seem like the headlights are still there but those are just panels with headlight stickers on them to make it look like the road bike. The fairing design remains the same, after all it has been heavily put through wind-tunnel testing to achieve the best drag coefficient in its class of 0.555.

Honda has then allowed its racing division to spec out the bike accordingly to be able for customer sport racing initiatives. The CBR600RR is a popular motorcycle in the SuperSport 600 class of the Asia Road Racing Championship and other such racing series of the world. On this track-only Ceeber, HRC has added a race ECU, the necessary electrical harness for it, race-tuned front and rear suspension units and better braking hardware. There is also a new cowl replacing the pillion seat area while the rider seat gets a small step, which turns out to be very beneficial while tucking in.
Racing teams can opt to get this updated model from January next year for the 2021 season. Honda hasn’t announced the prices yet but we guess it will easily be a good Rs 5-6 lakh extra over the stock bike. And if you want to explore the HRC kit catalogue further, you could easily shell out as much to buy a stock CBR600RR for the road.
