The Sonet will be offered with three engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The diesel engine will come in two states of tune depending on the transmission. Here are the detailed specifications:

The Sonet Turbo-petrol is the most powerful engine while the diesel automatic variant is the torquiest. It must be mentioned that the Sonet automatic variants utilises conventional transmissions unlike AMTs in some of the rivals.

  • Despite the, the Sonet diesel-automatic is just 0.5 seconds faster than its manual sibling.

  • The Sonet turbo-petrol iMT variant does 0-100kmph in 12.3 seconds which is respectable considering you don't have to do the hard work of pressing the clutch.
