TVS has launched the new Jupiter ZX Disc variant at Rs 69,052; it also features the i-Touch Start silent-start system.

  • Only Jupiter variant to feature a disc brake

  • Gets all-in-one lock system

  • Mechanically identical to the rest of the BS6 Jupiter line-up

The front disc brake option was surprisingly unavailable so far in the BS6 TVS Jupiter line-up, and this was one point of criticism about the scooter that we found during our road test review.

The new Jupiter ZX variant also gets TVS' new 'i-Touch Start' silent-start system, a feature we've seen before on the TVS XL100. It eliminates the cranking sound that’s heard while starting up the engine, with TVS claiming this helps improve battery life as well.

Besides a disc brake and the silent-start technology, this ZX variant also gets a new all-in-one lock system. It integrates the ignition system, seat, and fuel-cap lock release into a single keyhole, allowing the rider to access these functions easily.

Mechanically, the new TVS Jupiter ZX Disc is identical to the rest of the BS6 Jupiter line-up. It is powered by a 109.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel-injected engine that develops 7.3hp at 7,000rpm and 8.4Nm of torque at 8,400rpm. Other standard features include an LED headlamp, a telescopic fork, and a 21-litre boot.

The Jupiter ZX Disc is available in three colours – Matte Starlight Blue, Starlight Blue, and Royal Wine.

Interestingly, the new Jupiter ZX Disc variant is priced slightly below the range-topping Jupiter Classic (Rs 69,602), which does not get the silent-start system and is only available with a drum brake setup.

All prices, ex-showroom, Delhi
